Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Asheville is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I like to come here and play the disc golf course! Got my first ACE/(hole in 1) here. It would be a good beginner friendly course/pitch and putt if there was less homeless activity. Could be great but until this is dealt with only few will play. *Do not go on Sunday! 2 baskets are unplayable* ^*Local group feeds less fortunate and sets up right near basket 6* (Photo will show you) Otherwise very fun! I hope the course gets to stick around. I come here at least once a week to throw ace runs!

Aston Park is a great little downtown park with nice walking trails through beautiful trees, a gazebo, playground with a climbing wall and monkey bars for older kids, and an excellent bench swing that faces the Blue Ridge Mountains for some amazing sunsets. Plenty of parking available along South French Broad Ave or in the green lined public parking spaces in the 360 Hilliard Apartment (go in and drive to the back near the Tennis Courts). But I LOVE that I can easily walk to this park and don't need to drive. It's also great for events! I hosted a 100+ person event there for the new disc golf course with several booths, a bouncy house, a bike course, live music, and food. Kids and adults loved it!

The largest park in downtown Asheville with clay tennis courts, a shared basketball/ pickle ball court, playground, expansive green space and a six hole disc golf course. Aston Park boasts beautiful sunsets and easy parking near the tennis courts or along South French Broad Ave.
